Joanne Redpath talks about Appletree Dental's Awards Success

Excitement is at an all time high since I joined Appletree. I am up for the Aesthetic Dentistry Awards 2016. To add to that the practice has just won Dental Practice of the Year at the Northern Ireland 17 Healthcare Awards.
The Aesthetic Dentistry Awards are a stunning celebration of the most inspiring clinical work being done in the UK today. I am up for two categories:
- Restorative-Single Tooth Ceramic (The technician who made this zirconia crown was Alec Campbell of DTS International)
- Patient Choice Award-Restorative
Its really strange to see my name among the leaders in aesthetic dentistry, but I guess its an aspect of my work that I love. I always loved art and science at school. My dad (a joiner) was always good with his hands and I think I inherited this! There is nothing more rewarding at work than admiring the before and after photos with your patient, and thinking good job.

Quite often it may take someone many years to get around to doing something with their teeth that has always bugged them. This was the case with both cases entered in the awards. Their only regret usually is that they should have done it sooner.
What worries a lot of people are the fees. Often they are surprised that the fee is not as much as they expected. Home tooth whitening is only £220 within the budget of most people, you see the result in 2-3 weeks. If you would prefer an instant result then we can do Zoom whitening in surgery with a light to speed up the process. In surgery whitening is only £349.
A single Zirconia crown like the one shown in this case is £400. They can look so natural it can be difficult to tell which tooth is the crown.
