UK Web Award for Appletree Dental Care

Appletree Dental Care, Newry has added another award to its trophy cabinet having been announced winners of the 'Best New Private Website' award in the Dentistry.co.uk Website Awards 2007.
The contemporary dental practice, which provides specialist implant ans 'BriteSmile' whitening services, is a joint venture by Dr Katrina McKevitt and Dr Conor McEnhill and opened its doors at the Old Gasworks on Kilmorey Street in September 2006.
Having spent a number of months creating the site, they launched www.appletreedental.co.uk in September to celebrate their first anniversary and within a month had scooped the prestigious UK award. The website was developed as a joint project by Katrina's husband Colm with iDream Products.
The awards, sponsored by Dental Focus Web Design, officially recognise excellence in practice website development across the UK. Entrants' websites were judged on a number of areas including its overall look and feel, the quality of informative content, the existence of user-friendly features and real patient cases, how the surgery is presented, how it appeals to the right audience and whether it makes a good impression. Extra points were also awarded for evidence of search engine optimisation and technical/video expertise.
Katrina said, "Nowadays, any modern practice's website needs to have a lot more in it in terms style and client information. Our site provides detailed information on an array of modern dental treatments from veneers to implants, explained in simple terms that the average person can grasp easily.
"The website also carries graphics and illustrations from case studies of various treatments so patients are aware of what to expect and the treatment costs involved."
