Oral surgery — extractions, wisdom teeth and minor surgical procedures
Oral surgery at Appletree is led by Dr Conor McEnhill, who trained for three years in oral and maxillofacial surgery in Northern Ireland and Wales and holds the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (Dental Faculty) of Edinburgh — one of the most prestigious post-graduate dental qualifications in the UK. We’re often the practice other dentists refer their more challenging surgical cases to.

Comfort and confidence
Most surgical procedures here are done under local anaesthetic and a calm, well-paced approach — the kind of environment where most patients are surprised by how straightforward the visit turns out to be. For more complex cases or for nervous patients, sedation is available; you’ll need someone to bring you home.
Working with implants
Many of our oral surgery cases are part of implant treatment — bone preparation, sinus surgery, graft work to enable an implant in a site that wasn’t ready otherwise. Conor uses platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) techniques using the patient’s own blood for natural bone grafting. See Dental Implants for the full picture.
Frequently asked
Will I be in pain afterwards?
Most patients manage well with over-the-counter painkillers; we’ll prescribe stronger if needed. We’ll go through aftercare with you before you leave.
How long is recovery?
Most patients are back to normal within a few days. Bigger procedures (like surgical wisdom teeth) may need a week of gentler eating.
Do you offer IV sedation?
Can my own dentist refer me here?
Yes — see Referrals for the dentist-to-dentist process.
