Dentures — natural-looking, comfortable replacements for missing teeth

Modern dentures are a long way from the uncomfortable, obviously-fake plates of decades ago. Made well, fitted carefully and adjusted over a few visits, dentures restore the function and appearance of your smile — and most people you meet won’t know you have them.

Our denture options

  • Full standard denture — from £400. A complete upper or lower denture replacing all teeth in that arch.
  • Partial denture — from £250. Replaces some missing teeth where natural teeth remain.
  • Flexible denture — £550. A more comfortable, less visible alternative using a flexible base material.
  • Cobalt chrome denture — from £700. A precision metal-framework partial denture — strong, slim, exceptionally well-fitting.
  • Immediate denture — from £150. Fitted on the day of extractions so you’re never without teeth at the front.
  • Biteguard — £150. Custom-made guard to protect teeth from grinding (bruxism) at night.

Want something more secure?

Loose lower dentures in particular can be life-changing to stabilise. Implant-retained over-dentures clip onto a small number of implants placed in the jaw, eliminating slipping and dramatically improving chewing. From £4,250 for a two-implant solution or £7,500 for four-implant — see Dental Implants for the full picture.

What to expect

Getting your denture right typically takes several short visits — impressions, a “try-in” stage where we check the fit and look before final manufacture, fitting, and a follow-up adjustment or two as your gums settle in. We won’t rush you — the goal is dentures you forget you’re wearing.

Frequently asked

Will dentures change how I speak?

Usually for a few days, while your tongue and lips get used to them. Most patients are speaking normally within a week.

Can I eat normally?

Yes, after a settling-in period — starting with softer foods and gradually returning to normal. If a denture continues to feel loose, talk to us about an implant-retained option.

How do I look after them?

Brush them daily with a denture brush (not normal toothpaste), soak them overnight in a denture-cleaning solution, and bring them in for review at your regular check-ups so we can spot any wear.

How long will they last?

Well-made dentures typically last 5–10 years — sometimes longer. Over time, the shape of your gums changes underneath them, so a reline or replacement is part of normal long-term care.
