Airflow

Airflow — the gentle clean that leaves teeth visibly brighter

If your idea of a hygiene appointment is uncomfortable scraping and sensitive gums afterwards, Airflow will change your mind. It’s one of the most comfortable cleans available — and one of the most effective.

What Airflow actually is

Airflow uses a precisely controlled stream of warm water, fine powder and air to lift away plaque, bacteria and surface staining — reaching the spaces between teeth and along the gumline that traditional scaling can struggle with. There’s no scraping and no harsh polishing. Most patients describe it as feeling like a spa treatment for their teeth.

What it removes

  • Stubborn staining from coffee, tea, red wine and tobacco
  • Soft plaque and the bacterial biofilm that leads to decay and gum disease
  • Discolouration around the gumline and between teeth

Who it’s for

Almost everyone — and especially you if you have sensitive teeth, wear braces or aligners, have dental implants, or simply want your teeth looking and feeling their cleanest. It’s gentle enough for nervous patients and thorough enough to make a visible difference in a single visit.

What to expect

Your appointment is relaxed and quick. Our hygienist Zara will assess your teeth and gums, then use the Airflow system to clean thoroughly and comfortably, often alongside a regular hygiene check. You’ll leave with teeth that feel smoother and look noticeably brighter.

Brighter, healthier, in one appointment

Airflow isn’t just cosmetic — removing biofilm protects your gums and the long-term health of your teeth. It’s preventive care that happens to leave you with a brighter smile.

Frequently asked

Does Airflow whiten teeth?

Airflow doesn’t bleach teeth — but by lifting away built-up surface staining, it often restores them to their natural shade, which most patients perceive as noticeably brighter. If you want to go further, we can talk to you about professional whitening at the same visit.

Is it safe for sensitive teeth?

Yes. The absence of scraping and the use of warm water make Airflow significantly more comfortable for sensitive patients than a traditional scale and polish.

Is it safe around veneers, crowns, implants and braces?

Yes. There’s no metal-on-tooth contact and the cleaning powder is fine enough that it lifts plaque without scratching restorations, fittings or fixed orthodontic brackets.

How often should I have it?

For most patients, every six months alongside the routine examination. We’ll advise you based on your individual needs.
