Dental implants — a permanent, natural-looking way to replace missing teeth
Whether you’re missing a single tooth or several, dental implants are the closest thing to getting your natural teeth back. They look natural, feel secure, and — looked after well — can last for decades.
What a dental implant is
An implant is a small titanium post that takes the place of a missing tooth’s root. It’s placed gently into the jawbone, where it fuses with the bone over a healing period to form a stable foundation. A custom-made crown is then fitted on top, matched to your natural teeth. The result is a replacement tooth that functions and looks like the real thing.
What implants can do
- Replace a single missing tooth without affecting the healthy teeth either side
- Replace several teeth with implant-supported bridges
- Secure loose dentures so they no longer slip or rub
Why choose implants over a bridge or denture
- They’re permanent — fixed in place, not taken in and out
- They protect your jaw — implants help preserve the bone that’s lost when a tooth is missing
- They stand alone — unlike a bridge, neighbouring healthy teeth aren’t ground down to support them
- They look and feel natural — most people forget which tooth is the implant

Frequently asked
Am I too old for implants?
Age itself isn’t a barrier. What matters is your general health and the condition of the bone that will support the implant — both of which we assess at the consultation. Many of our patients are in their 60s, 70s and beyond.
Will my implant look like a real tooth?
Yes. The crown fitted on top is custom-made and colour-matched to the teeth around it. In most cases, no one but you and Conor will know which tooth is the implant.
How long does the whole process take?
From consultation to your finished tooth, typically 3–6 months — most of which is the healing phase where the implant integrates with the jawbone. The procedure itself is a single appointment.
What if I don’t have enough bone for an implant?
We routinely treat patients who’ve been told elsewhere that they aren’t candidates. Conor uses advanced techniques including bone grafting and “socket shield” preservation — one of the few clinicians in Ireland offering the latter.
How much does it cost?
A single implant starts from £1,995. The total cost depends on whether grafting or other preparatory work is needed — we’ll give you a clear, written estimate after your consultation. See our Fees page for the full implant pricing.
