Referring a patient to Appletree

We’re proud to be a practice other dentists trust with their more challenging cases. If you’re a dental colleague looking to refer a patient — for implants, complex restorative work, oral surgery or endodontics — we’d be pleased to look after them, and to send them back to you when their treatment is complete.

Who you can refer to at Appletree

Dr Conor McEnhill — implants, oral surgery and complex restorative cases. Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (Dental Faculty); Advanced Implant Dentistry Diploma, Royal College of Surgeons London; trained at the Centre for Implant and Reconstructive Dentistry, Harley Street under Dr Ashok Sethi; ADI mentor; former winner of Best Single Implant at the UK Smile Awards. One of few clinicians in Ireland using the socket shield technique for bone preservation.

Dr Brian Vaughan — endodontics (referral-only practice). Master’s in Endodontics with distinction, King’s College London (2017); clinical supervisor on the King’s College Endodontics Master’s programme; CBCT-trained; microscope-assisted endodontics; British Endodontic Society member and Dentsply Sirona certified trainer.

Dr Katrina McKevitt — complex restorative cases and implant restoration. QUB 1994 1st Class Honours; Certificate in Implant Dentistry (Warwick); Certificate in Restorative Dentistry (Dr Paul Tipton); Advanced Implant Restorative with Dr Tidu Mankoo; member, Irish Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry.

Cases we welcome

  • Single implants, multiple implants, full-arch rehabilitation
  • Sinus lifts, bone grafting (BioOss, autograft, PRF), ridge augmentation
  • Socket preservation following extraction
  • Surgical extractions including impacted wisdom teeth
  • Apicectomy / apical surgery
  • Routine and complex endodontics — molars, re-treatments, fractured-file removal, perforation repair, post removal
  • Complex restorative cases — full-mouth rehabilitation, occlusal reconstruction, implant-supported prosthetics

If you’re not sure whether a case is one we’d take on, please call us before you refer — we’d rather have the conversation than have you and your patient wonder.

Our promise to referring dentists

  • Return of patient. We treat your referral as exactly that — a referral, not a transfer. Once the treatment we’ve agreed to is complete, your patient goes back to you for their ongoing care. We don’t poach.
  • You get a full clinical letter. Imaging, treatment notes, materials used, follow-up plan — everything you’d need to continue care confidently.
  • Imaging shared. Any CBCT, radiographs or intraoral scans we acquire are shared with you on request, no charge.
  • Direct line to the treating clinician. If you have questions about the case after treatment, you can contact Conor or Brian directly — not through reception.
  • Discretion with your patient. We’re aware referred patients are your patients, and we speak about you as such.

How to refer

Online referral form (below). The fastest way. Submit patient details, what you’d like reviewed or treated, and any imaging attachments. We acknowledge within one working day and arrange the consultation directly with your patient.

By email: referrals@appletreedental.co.uk

What happens next

  1. You submit the referral — by form, email, or phone.
  2. We acknowledge within one working day and confirm we’ve received any imaging.
  3. We contact your patient to schedule their consultation. Imaging and your referral notes go to the treating clinician beforehand.
  4. The consultation happens. Your patient receives a clear treatment plan and costs.
  5. Treatment proceeds — your patient is updated; you receive a clinical letter at key stages.
  6. Patient returns to you for ongoing care with the full clinical handover.
